A recent international study shows that complexity of operations became the industry leaders’ major challenge. Nearly 75% of French leaders consider complexity will continue to increase in the coming years.

Businesses strongly relying on innovative technologies and/or conducting industrial plans on a large scale such as Aerospace, Defense, Utilities or automotive will be most significantly impacted.

Tremendous amounts lately provisioned by some large prime contractors (Areva, Airbus, Boeing) show that profitability may seriously suffer from complexity when not managed.

Current organizations and management tools are proving themselves inefficient to apprehend complexity of new programs, making schedule adherence and cost compliance illusory.

Nevertheless some recent experiences show there is no fatality. Modular approaches or platform strategies are successful innovative systems that enable management deal with complexity.
